SpeedSF Challenge

Open-make time attack for NorCal drivers. Every car starts with base points, mods add more, and your total puts you in one of six classes from S5 to Group X. Season podium needs 4+ challenges; your lowest result is dropped.

Pick your make and model for base points, then select every modification on the car. Submit before each event so the Competition Director can confirm your class.

Half points stay in the lower class (6.5 is S5, 13.5 is S4). Some cars (Porsche GT2 RS, McLaren 720S / Senna / MP4-12C) are Group X automatically. Unlisted car or mod? Ask the Competition Director.

Key rules

  • Timing through SpeedSF Track Events is required and included in the entry fee.
  • 10+ track days, or a sanctioned competition license, to enter.
  • All Miatas need an approved 4-point roll bar. No exceptions.
  • Convertibles need roll-over protection. Ask staff about factory OEM protection (S2000, ND2).
  • Every entry must list the tire being run.
  • Two or more morning qualifying sessions count toward class records and the grid.
  • Championship points come from the Challenge session only. Drive 2+ laps to score.
  • Nitrous oxide is prohibited at all track days.
  • Protests go in writing to the Competition Director within 15 minutes of the session.
  • Rules may change without notice.
